USW 560 Continutes Fight To Stop TPP

North Dakota United Steelworker local 560 (USW 560) continutes to put pressure on Congress to stand against the Trans-Pacific Partnership collected over 1100 petitions asking congress to stand against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, (TPP) a trade deal with 11 other countries in the Pacific Rim. The TPP is expected to have disasterous results for working people here and abroad if passed during the upcoming lame-duck congress.

Last April USW 560 collected over 1100 petitions signed by their membership to oppose the TPP and sent a delegation of their members to hand-deliver them to Senator Hoeven, Senator Heitkamp and Representative Cramer at their offices in Washington, D.C.

At the last USW 560 meeting in Gwinner they collected another 123 petitions opposing he trade deal and were delivered to Representative Cramer's Fargo office on Friday by USW 560 Rapid Response Coordinator Tom Ricker.

"USW Local 560 will continue to diligently oppose bad trade deals like the TPP that ship good American jobs overseas and hurt our communities" USW 560 Rapid Response Coordinator Tom Ricker said.
